BEAR CREEK BIKE AND PEDESTRIAN TRAIL – REDMOND, WA
JGM was the landscape architect subconsultant on this important trail linkage between Redmond Way and Union Hill Road in Redmond. The bike and pedestrian byway provided Bear Creek Trail users a safe, continuous route through the city with a direct connection to the Sammamish River Trail.
JGM’s responsibilities included alignment studies, schematic plans and construction documents for the multi-purpose trail. The trail consisted of three parallel trail segments: a 1,400 LF hard surface trail; a soft surface trail used by joggers; and a second soft surface trail used as a winding interpretive trail. Important design elements included city entrance identification, buffer mitigation planting, streetscape plantings and an irrigation system.
